It gives us great pleasure to present to you the latest release on Alt Recordings, featuring three brand new tracks by none other than Tom Ellis! Having given us a blinding remix for the Daniel Schneider EP last year, he now returns with the 'Done In EP', featuring his trademark funked out style and a further extension of the path Alt chooses to tread through electronic music. |

We are very pleased to present the latest release on Alt, from Swiss producer Storlon. The 'Drill of Silver Fir' EP continues the minimal aesthetic carried by our first three collections, but pushes the experimental tendencies further towards the outer limits of 4/4 music. |

Here we have the first dedicated artist release on Alt Recordings, which comes shrouded in mystery directly out of our inbox. We received a sparse email from one Daniel Schneider offering 3 tracks, 2 vague photographs, a batch of samples and a message along the lines of 'Like your label, here are three tracks for you. Take them or leave them! Peace - Daniel Schneider.' We have since tried getting in touch with this rogue producer but to no avail, but we wouldn't let that stop us putting out these tracks. |

NOT ANOTHER NET LABEL VOL. 02 1. AUDIO DEPENDENT - YES SEY 2. J-LAB - With Love 3. MR SMITH - Feckless 4. JOE ELLIS - Where We Go 5. TONE DEF - Remember Click here for the full release + artwork [ALTF002] |
| Here we have the latest batch of tracks from the ever-expanding Alt network of artists and friends. After the stellar offerings on Not Another Net Label Vol. 01, the standard was already set high to continue the Alt message of fresh, original electronic sounds veering away from the boring-as-fuck trends of the minimal scene. Lucky for us (and you!) we have here a simply jaw-dropping ear-popping mind-blowing collection that takes the label's principles to the next level. From these tracks, you can take your pick of what you look for in music, whether it be deep emotional movements or all-out dancefloor damage. Audio Dependent has literally nuked the competition with YES SEY, a slab of the most delightfully spannered wonk imaginable with a growling bass hook to instantly jerk the body into action. J-Lab has done us proud with the deep and surprising moodiness that permeates With Love, coming on like a spangly spine-rush. The irrepressible funk of Mr Smith's Feckless will have any self respecting head nodding from the start, while Joe Ellis' own brand takes things down a warmer, jazz-inflected corridoor. Label head-honcho Tone Def was going to hold back his track, but thankfully he changed his mind. Remember signifies a maturing in the TD sound, where the day-glo synths step out hand in hand with a rocking bottom end to go to a decidedly classy party. |

NOT ANOTHER NET LABEL VOL. 01 1. TONE DEF - I Dunno 2. MR SMITH - Out For The Chopping Block 3. JOE ELLIS - 198 Yards 4. AUDIO DEPENDENT - The Deep End Click here for the full release + artwork [ALTF001] |
| The first Alt release, no doubt primed to become seminal somewhere down the line(?!) Four fine and varied slabs of party fodder have been offered up for your enjoyment, laying out the blueprint for where Alt Recordings wants to take you, musically speaking at least. Label boss Tone Def steps up first with a restrained groover, keeping just enough bass involved to keep you moving. Mr Smith's ...Chopping Block looks at beats and samples like they were lab rats waiting to be dissected, and the result is a slick piece of micro-technological beat arranging. Joe Ellis cranks things up with a brilliant vocal snippet that drives the bumping, muscular sinews of 198 Yards, while Audio Dependent's The Deep End pulls you in from the very first beat for one of those transcendental musical moments as the tune drops, full of artfully melded melodies and bass that toys with your grey matter. |
